My life as mama Thompson...

Everyone always tells you to go on "dates" with your spouse...I love to be with my munchkin all the time, so leaving him to have alone time with David when I could have both my boys with me, just never seemed to be a need I had.  No one ever tells that the reason you need "date" night isn't just to reconnect with your spouse and have conversations that don't revolve around your child..."date" night is so "mama" can have a break from hearing "mommeeeeeee" and "mine" all day every day for 3 days straight...really?  19 month old...you can't try some other words for a few minutes because those words are like nails on a chalk board for me....and so "date night" commenced and the peace I felt was worth more then I could have imagined.

Babysitter on hand....Dallin content with toys and movies...off I went, to this place...

...to watch cool stuff like this...

...eat some delicious food and to enjoy some time with this guy...

It's not that David and I haven't gone out on our own before...but those were just some fun times that we thought we would take advantage of when family was around.  This was different...this was needed!  I'm not sure when I will need this again...but let's just say that I am feeling much more patient right now...and really, when you come home to this...

why would ever need to go on a date again?

Good for you! I call those moments 'mental health breaks'. Whether it's a weekend or just walking around target alone, or a night out with the mister... every Mom should have one at least once a week! How could you ever need a break from that cute Dallin though? He really doesn't seem too much trouble :)

I'm a little freaked out...has Dallin stopped posting, or is he just taking a break?!?!?!

It appears that we might NEED to have scrapbooking day more often as well, so that you can have a break.

Ooh, I love that place! So glad you finally had a date night with David! You need it every once in a while. Who babysat?

Trust me I know it helps to have some of those days every now and again.

Good for you!
