Then tonight....we read books and rocked till 8:30...hoping the little later start would help...this time, an hour later...thunk...thunk...and crying. I rocked him for a long time, hoping he would fall asleep...but no luck. So I put him back in bed instructing him that he was not allowed to throw anything out of his bed and he had to go to sleep. No sooner did I get back downstairs when he is crying again...I went up, opened the door and there he stood...in his bed, holding his blanket with nothing on the floor. He looked at me and said, "shorry, drink"..."I shorry, drink". I look down and there laid his sippy cup...I hadn't given it back to him. Oh...my heart went out to him...He wanted to be good and just go to sleep...but he needed his sippy cup. (He doesn't drink the water...he just lays the cup in front of his face and stares at it). I love when he tells me "shorry"...it's so cute!!!! After giving him the cup, I asked if he was going to sleep now...he said yes...It's now almost 10...I haven't heard from him in 20 minutes...I hope he was telling the truth!

Oh, that is so sweet! What a little cutie. I hope he stays in bed for you. Advice - don't rush to put him in a bed. Trey gets up at 6:30 every morning now and his naps are a lot shorter since he got his bed. Keep them caged in as long as you can!
O that is such a cute story!!! I love when they say sorry too. I can't believe how big he is getting and almost 2!!! The time goes by so fast!!
oh man, that's rough. atticus is a really good sleeper too and anytime he deviates at all i'm like "what in the world???" and then my heart goes out to all parents of non-good sleeper kids and i remember not to take it for granted. he loves to throw all his things out of the crib too but then just goes to sleep without his goodies. such a crazy little dude. i love your new banner by the way! really cute!
My kids did this occasionally... I think when they nap too long or later in the day they don't go to bed as easily at night. Sometimes around that age I would wake them up after a 2 hour nap b/c if they slept too long it was a fight at night. Just an idea.... it's painful to interrupt nap time but it's nice at night to have your life back!!
