Mama's taking votes...

And she really wants your opinions and ideas...

This is the "new" (not really new) dresser that mommy painted for my big boy room.  She thinks that it is too boring for the room and wants to make it special for me...

Here's the drawer up close...

Mommy's ideas:
paint just the drawer fronts with either a solid color, plaid, stripes, a thin rectangle around the perimeter of the drawer.
Mommy is open to other ideas as well...or maybe she should leave it plain white.

Here are the colors that mommy is using in my room.

Please help mommy decide so she can finish all my decorating before I turn 5!

Good job on the painting - it looks brand new! I think stripes would look cute. I love stripes! Different colored stripes in different thicknesses on the drawer fronts - something like that. Or solid color fronts would look cute as well. Whatever you do, I bet it will look great. Figure it out so I can copy you! I love the colors of his bedspread!

if it were me i would paint the dresser itself the green color, then do the drawers just solid colors with the other colors, but i have this werid thing about white furniture so my opinion is biased lol

stripes or plaid like the bedspread would be very cute. even just a border and then cute colorful knobs! guess it depends how much painting you want to do! can't wait to see the finished product!

That is a tough one. I like the ideas of stripes. You could do a thick one down the middle and then a thin stripe on either side. If it were me I would do the light blue for the biggest stripe and then the green or orange for the smaller stripes. Then if you can find the dark blue handles, or the brown.

So I am going to be different than everyone. I like white furniture I think it looks nice and clean. I see that the walls are painted blue and brown and the quilt has a lot of different colors in it. I would leave the dresser white. Perhaps put some fun knobs on it but other than that I would leave it the way it is. I think if you add too many colors it will look too busy. You don't want to distract from the cute quilt and wall paint. If you want to add color I would do it very minimal and perhaps just do it with some accessories around the room. Hope that helps.

My vote it for the white dresser, maybe with some fun colored knobs like the bed spread. I only say this becuase I started out with a white dresser/bookcase for Emma and have been able to use it in 2 rooms for her, and then moved it onto Grants room. Saved a whole lotta $$$!! Looks great so far!

If you paint the dresser then you will probably have to change the head board to go with it......don't you think? I would do fun nobs for sure! If you want to add color do a small piping of something around the edges but don't go way out I think it will distract from his cute room color and bedspread....BTW the spread is way CUTE!!!!!!! Those are my thoughts but they probably shouldn't count since you designed painted, made a vallance, and wall coverings, and the mobile for my son's room!! What did I do in there....I think sat on my fat butt and watched. Oh, I remembered I bought the bedding and the supplies! Hey, I need help painting and decorating again you wanna come to WA earlier and help?????

I like the idea of small strips or piping around the drawer, but I also think cute simple stencils would look cute and it would help Dallin keep his clothes straight, ( your shirts are in the train drawer and your pants are in the truck drawer.) Just a thought. I haven't commented for awhile, but Dallin is getting so big, he is very cute. Hope to see you again soon.

I totally agree with Vicki on labeling the drawers! But instead of shapes/pictures (which would be very cute!) I would do words: pants, shirts, socks, pj's, etc. (Although, I suppose that was expected coming from me and my love for typography?) I'm sure you know this, but little kids memorize words QUICKLY and from what I've been told, that's how they first learn to read, so I'm sure in no time he would be reading them! Keep the dresser white and pick your favorite color from the quilt to use for the letters. That's my vote...for what it's worth! :)

I'm with everyone else...ha ha. I'm kind of with Hannah...I like it white so it doesn't get too busy, but you could also just do simple stripes.

Disclaimer: I'm really bad at decorating. I don't have an eye for anything.

You've gotten so many wonderful comments, but I thought I'd put in my two cents primarily because I wanted to say hello. I really like the way you've painted it white. What a terrific job, and it looks brand new! I'd definitely keep it white, and I love the idea of using colored knobs. I know you'd do a terrific job painting stripes or whatever, but think of the time you'll save. Additionally, if you decide to change Dallin's room or get him something different and move it to another room, you can easily adapt it to a different color scheme. Whatever you decide, I know Dallin will be totally happy, especially with his new big boy bed.
Love, Nana T :)
