Dallin, David and I flew in on the 5th (to Seattle)...my throat kinda hurt that day, but I chalked it up to very little sleep the night before, an early morning and plane ride...but when I woke up the next morning and all I wanted to do was curl up and sleep because every time I stood I thought I would faint...I knew I was in trouble. We headed to Seaside and the next few days things just got worse and worse. By the time we came back on Sunday we headed to the ER...I couldn't breath...I couldn't stop coughing...and I won't even go into the yellow gunk coming from every orifice on my face:)
"The ER doc" said it was a virus...bronchitis...gave me an inhaler to help with the breathing...and some Vicadin to help stop the cough. Yep, vicadin for my cough...AWESOME! She also told me to get Sudafed (the meth kind) and more cough drops. The next few days things didn't really get much better...David left Tuesday which meant I was back to caring for Dallin at night. And I will have you know that every night David was in charge of him...he slept through the night. Since it has just been me...nope..."MOMMY....I GO PEEPEE" (a few times a night). But I digress...I decided on Wednesday that I had better fill my commitment to Mandy and paint her red rectangle...I think that did me in because on Thursday morning...I thought I was going to die. I have never felt so sick in my life...AND....I had already been dealing with this for a week. So mom called the family doctor and set me up an appointment for Friday. Well, of course come Friday I was feeling quite a bit better (helped that I slept Thursday away), but I went to the doctor anyway...and guess what...NOT a virus....nope...he says it is bacterial and I need to be on antibiotics. Thank you $100 visit to ER....my $15 visit to the doctor was much more helpful. SO...he gave me an antibiotic AND prescription cough syrup NOT vicadin. NICE!
So now it is Saturday....I have less then a week left on my trip. I am tired...tired of not sleeping at night due to the cough...the nose...and the kid. Tired of blowing my nose...tired of coughing (my stomach seriously better be a six-pack at the end of this)...tired of my ears popping and being clogged....tired of the yellow gunk...tired of carrying a box of tissues with me EVERYWHERE...tired of sleeping with a cough drop in my mouth...TIRED!!!
I am NOT looking for sympathy...I am just needing to inform that the one vacation I was looking forward to the MOST this summer....has turned into the biggest pile of tissues one could ever imagine....and a pharmacy next to my bed that would make any drug addict jealous!
I am VERY lucky that I am with my mom and that she is willing to take care of lil D...AND for Vicki...who has been here nearly every day and playing with him too! I guess if you are gonna get sick....do it where there are people to care for you. Poor Dallin even knows what's going on and when I am laying down says...."mommy sick...mommy take medicine". And the funniest thing...when he was showing me how I blow my nose...hilarious!
So here's to another day of being in my jammies at 1pm and laying down for a nap 'cause Dallin is taking one and hoping I can get some sleep that isn't sweat soaked and then chilly...whatever! Maybe next week I can make it out of Federal Way....I was really hoping to get some Supermall shopping in while I was here. Is it sad that I am too tired to have any desire to even think about shopping...SAD!
PS...I will be taking a picture of my pharmacy here at some point...seriously...it is frightening the amount of stuff I am putting in my body and I am not really sure any of it is helping!

Well, this just sucks! I know how much you were looking forward to this vacation - I hope you can at least enjoy a few days of it.
I had a bad cough (not as bad as yours I'm sure) in April and it still hasn't completely gone away. I hope yours doesn't last that long.
Get better!
I'm so sorry it has taken so long for you to get better. Antibiotics are definitely the way to go, and it's too bad you didn't get them days earlier so you could get well quicker. I'm happy that your family is there to help with Dallin so you can try to get better. Wow, when you feel lousy it's so hard to deal with little ones, and thank goodness for your Mom and Vicki. Bless them, and bless you that you get well soon. Darn, you need to be shopping and having fun!!! Please tell everyone Hi for me.
Love, Nana T :)
I'm sorry you're vacation was full of sickness and pharmaceuticals. I know what you mean about being close to family, though. Pretty sure neither of my parents ever want to fetch me an ice pack (or trip on my crutches...) ever, ever again.
And tell Vicki she's gorgeous.
Oh, and I just facebooked you about Scott coming into town...
