There's no "I" in team...

Today was my first soccer game...boy was I excited. I have never gotten dressed so fast and without fighting in my life. I didn't want to wear my soccer socks though cause, "my feet are little and those socks are for big feet".

Daddy came with us and I couldn't wait to get on the grass to play...

My friends Brach and Jonah are on my team...

Brach and I just strategizing for the game...

I even got to warm up with my team...
I waited patiently in line for my turn to kick a goal...

I ecstatically volunteered to play first and lined up for that too...

I was there when the game started...

and then it happened...
do you see it?
the shove?

Me: (crying and running to mom) They aren't sharing the ball with me.
Mom: no Dallin, they don't have to share with you...you are supposed to take it away from them and kick it down there into the goal.
Me: they shoved.
Mom: well, that happens. They are trying to get to the ball...it's ok.
Me: They aren't my friends
Mom: yes, they can be your friends.
Me: the green guys are my friends. Those blue guys aren't my friends. I want to play with dad and mom and my friends.

I spent the rest of the game like this...

Mom and dad kept trying to convince me to go back out and play...but I just wanted to go home...we didn't leave till it was all over...I may not have gotten the doughnuts mom tried to offer if I would go play, but I did get some treats from some lady:)

Mom says we have to go back again next week...we'll see about that...

(a note from the mama: I guess I should be proud...all the lessons about sharing and not hurting others HAVE really sunk in:) What did I expect really? I think maybe we may need to stick with golf...tennis...possibly baseball...any sport where no one else actually touches him...that's why baseball is just a "possibly"...heaven forbid the kid ever get tagged out...)
